OPENING CEREMONIES
Before the start of the noon meeting the Editor in Chief Dave Mitten started the search for today's Bulletin Editor Doug Cameron, realizing that his mission was futile he drafted the second team. This was one of the few times I was actually on time for the meeting.
Paul Witmer filled in for the vacationing President Mike today, he was likely sitting in a bar on a warm sunny day enjoying a beer.
Dave Mitten led the singing of O Canada and Jody Moore led the invocation.

TABLE TALK

There were many topics discussed at the table today, we talked about the Trans Pacific Trade Pact which led to a discussion on  President Trump. We discussed marijuana growing, I am not sure if that followed from the discussion of President Trump. Peter Ashenhurst was proud to let us know that about his Freelton roots. It was pointed out  to Peter that Freelton was famous for a nudist resort, seems that Peter did some work there.

GUEST SPEAKER
Our Guest Speaker today was Gem Munro from the Amarok Society. He was introduced by Peter Ashenhurst. Gem has spoken to our club before.
Gem gave us a brief introduction to the Amarok Society. Gem and his wife Tanyas travelled to Bangladesh where they saw that Bangladesh had the worst school system in the world. Millions of children never get the chance to attend a school. There are many aid agencies providing aid but no one is there for the millions of slum children. Gem and Tanyas hit on a plan, they would teach the mothers who would in turn help their families and other mothers. Many men pointed out the futility and fatility of their plan. They proved that the natural state of the human mind is not ignorance but a desire to teach after learning. This program in Bangladesh has been very successful. Gem pointed out that the only way to stop the extremist is education. The Amarok Society has received donations from Rotary before and would appreciate any funds from our club.
Paul Goetz thanked Gem on behalf of our club and Acting Pres Paul gonged us back to work.
