OPENING CEREMONIES

We waited with bated breath, today was the first meeting for our new President. however today was not going to be that day. Past President Mike gathered us together with his standard greeting. Jody Moore led the singing of O Canada and Peter Ashenhurst gave the invocation,.

TABLE TALK

Conversation around the table was quite varied. We discussed garter snakes, and lots of basketball. Interestingly basketball was discussed but there was no mention of the Raptors. Gluten free beer was also a hot topic.

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS REPORT

Sgt At Arms Peter Ashenhurst announced that 10 members were present today, this worked out to be a 45 % attendance. Jim Robinson was our only Guest. Jim was a guest of Larry Olney.

HAPPY-TOONIES

Today the 10 members made Larry Olney a happy member. Larry was also happy to announce that our guest Jim Robinson has decided to join our club. Larry will be missing our next meeting since he will be visiting PEI and New Brunswick.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Past President Mike had some sad news to announce. Stan Jones, Dave Mitten and Ken Slade will all be leaving our club at the start of this Rotary Year. All three members will be missed.

A reminder that the Club[s Annual Golf Tournament will be on Sept 09. We need teams, 5 teams have already registered for the tournament.

Larry Olney announced that the Ribfest is on track. Please make sure that you have registered to be a volunteer.

NOTES:

The Sgt.‐At‐Arms shall mark the attendance sheet, input Guest Names, Visiting Rotarians and Make‐ups submitted by club members, as well as calculate the meeting percentage. You will also give the invocation when requested by the President. At the end of the meeting make sure the Secretary has the “Secretary’s Copy”.

In addition, the SAA shall also fill in the attendance details on the “Bulletin Editor’s Copy” and make sure the editor receives it by the end of the meeting.

The person who is responsible for any Ticket sales shall enter the cash details on the “Treasurer’s Copy”. They shall also collect the Happy Toonies and enter that information on the same sheet. At the end of the meeting they shall give the treasurer the tally sheet along with the cash in an envelope. There is a supply of banker’s envelopes in the tote box.
