OPENING CEREMONIES
Our lovely Laureen (incoming President)  filled in for our President Mike's absence .  She also plied the crowd with bags of potato chips.  Not sure of the reason, is she running for local office in a couple of weeks?
She quickly brought our meeting to order and Sean started us in a rousing version of O Canada and Gerry Menezes read the invocation .
We toasted Canada and Rotary and sat to enjoy our meals to follow .

TABLE TALK
Discussion was lively around our table.

Larry described his adventures at the cottage with an old tree, a chain saw and a resultant squished trailer and clipped boat.  Let that be a lesson for all the aspiring Paul Bunyans out there.

Sean (the proud father) showed us a picture of his new baby.....a 1971 Ski Roule SS300 (no less).  That is a snow sled for the uninitiated.  From his research, this could be the actual sled that his family owned and he enjoyed as a kid in New Liskeard.  Ahhh.  The memories of the North.

NEWS FLASH:  The crowd broke into a loud cheer when Al Fox arrived.  Our club population increase by a factor of one (1).

Not to be outdone, Dave Kinder was the last to arrive in relative anonymity yet welcome just the same.

Dean indicated that he may actually make it out to Puslinch to check out my suffering Blue Spruce.  He has a client in the area and should have time to scoot over.

The balance of the talk ranged from Deer to Black Bears and how to avoid them

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS REPORT

The Sergeant-At-Arms Gerry Menezes announced that 14 members were present today, this was a 51 % attendance.

We enjoyed fellowship and a meal as there was no speaker scheduled for this meeting.

HAPPY-TOONIES

Don Daggett  was made just a little happier today and was able to pay Larry back the $5.00 he had placed in the pot for Don.

Sean was happy about his new sled (see Table Talk) and how excellent the Simple Minds still perform in concert.  It kind of reminds him od the days that he wore a mullet.

Dave Kinder was happy to have worked the Bingo with Larry (done for another year).  He was also excited to learn that if a Bingo runs past the time, we are able to leave at 9:00pm anyway.  Dave was also happy to see that he knew the lady pushing the food cart.  Dave has done work with her and they spend a few minutes catching up with each other.

Laureen happy to have found a neighbor to cut the grass at the cottage as well as the second cottage...for less than what she was expecting.  I wonder what she did with the savings windfall?
