Ken Slade introduced the guest speaker , Eva Vlasov , Director of Argus house , the shelter for young men and women between the ages of 16 and 24 located in Cambridge . Argus has been in the community for over 30 years , assisting 5000 young people over the years Its goal is to prevent youth homelessness , and provide shelter , life skills , and community integration . Argus assists between 160 -200 young people per year . They also run the retail store UPTOWN THRIFT at 742 King Street in Preston , which supports youth employment . Please donate unwanted goods to the store ! The city needs more affordable housing options for struggling young people .
