We discussed the RI International conference in Toronto , and the minimum wage  situation , and the gelatinous shrimp bisque - YUK  !
SERGEANT-AT-ARMS REPORT

We had 16 of 24 members present (67%). Our guests today were Greg Rann (guest of Mike Jennings) , Julie Kinder ( guest of Dave ) , and guest speaker Eva Vlasov .

Sean was happy today , especially when he borrows money , or lends money out  ! 
Sean is excited as he and a group of buddies are trying to break the world record run on a snowmobile ... 24 hour race  attempting to travel 3600 Km's ... on Lake Muskoka March 2 , 2018 along a 12 Km groomed trail at seeds of 160KM per hour !!!
No one else was happy !

GUEST SPEAKER
Ken Slade introduced the guest speaker , Eva Vlasov , Director of Argus house , the shelter for young men and women between the ages of 16 and 24 located in Cambridge .
 
Argus  has been in the community for over 30 years , assisting 5000 young people over the years 
Its goal is to prevent youth homelessness , and provide shelter , life skills , and community integration . 
Argus assists between 160 -200 young people per year .
They also run the retail store UPTOWN THRIFT at 742 King Street in Preston , which supports youth employment . Please donate unwanted goods to the store !
The city needs more affordable housing options for struggling young people .
Argus tries to return the residents to their homes , and their extended families .
 
Peter thanked the speaker .

ATTENDANCE SHEET & INVOCATION
 
 
 
 
 
NOTES:
The Sgt.‐At‐Arms shall mark the attendance sheet, input Guest Names, Visiting Rotarians and Make‐ups submitted by club members, as well as calculate the meeting percentage. You will also give the invocation when requested by the President. At the end of the meeting make sure
the Secretary has the “Secretary’s Copy”.

In addition, the SAA shall also fill in the attendance details on the “Bulletin Editor’s Copy” and make sure the editor receives it by the end of the meeting.

The person who is responsible for any Ticket sales shall enter the cash details on the “Treasurer’s Copy”. They shall also collect the Happy Toonies and enter that information on the same sheet. At the end of the meeting they shall give the treasurer the tally sheet along with
the cash in an envelope. There is a supply of banker’s envelopes in the tote box.

IF YOU CANNOT MAKE your assigned date, it is your responsibility to arrange for a replacement to take your time slot!! To be sure of your schedule, TELEPHONE your partner the day before.
