ANNOUNCEMENTS

Laureen and Mike brought to our attention the three club Christmas Party at the Galt Country Club on Friday November 29 , 2019 . We will all enjoy prime rib for dinner .
Sean announced our kick off for Ham Cookies and Cake sales for Christmas . Please get selling !!  Also it is VERY IMPORTANT that members use the form to report Ham and Cake sales back to Sean in order to avoid the fiasco of overselling.  We are able to order additional hams on short notice if need be.
Dec 4th is the Bring Out a Friend / Prospective Member to lunch meeting.  Let's make this a great meeting to introduce more people to the Best Wednesday Lunch Rotary Club in Cambridge.

GUEST SPEAKER

This was a regular meeting having no speaker.
The purpose of discussion was that of the future of Ribfest.

Feedback from the club as well as meetings held with the Sunrise Club indicated that there is fatigue primarily with the Marketing/Fundraising/Sponsorship Committee as well as the Logistics Committee.

General consensus from the club is that if there was more support for the Logistics Committee (in terms of lead up and the days of), we would be interested in continuing with the event.  The current members of the committee voiced concern about the large number of hours they had been putting in during the event.

With respect to Fundraising, etc.  The two clubs met with an organization, Impact Events.  They run the KW Craft Beer and RibFest.  They indicated that they could takeover the task of Marketing/Sponsorships/Fundraising and from their past experience, we would make far more money.
The discussions were very preliminary and there was no discussion with respect to the cost of this service.

In general, the club believes that Ribfest is a great event, however, requires some adjustment.  If we were to exit Ribfest, we would have to look at how we replace those funds.

Loreen and Dean will have a follow up meeting with the Sunrise Club and report back to the club.

A decision will have to be made soon in order to have the time to put plans in place for 2020.
