GUEST SPEAKER
Our speaker today was Joyce Haynes from the Canadian Hearing Society.

The Canadian Hearing Society has been operating as a non-profit organization for over 75 years. The society offers a hearing care counselling service which began as an employment service. The goal of the organization is to break down the barriers to communication.

The organization now provides employment training, product professional services, community based social services, clinical services and counselling services.

Hearing Care Counsellors specifically provide hearing help classes, hearing aid information, workshops, coping counselling, and help with communication devices.

Hearing loss affects everyone because it impairs communication for both parties which results in negative emotion, anger, anxiety, frustration, isolation, depression ...

Joyce brought along a device that allowed us to quickly assess our hearing.

Peter thanked our speaker.
